Welcome To Chris Close Properties!
How to use this website:
This web site has been designed in order to help you navigate through the Metropolitan Phoenix real estate market.  Whether you are a buyer, seller, tenant or landlord, everything you should need is here.  On the left hand side of this page, you'll see Navigation Aides.  Look through these first as they will help you when you are ready to finally hit the "Find Property" button.  Good luck, remember that I'm at the other end of your telephone line (480) 221-1672 - and if you are new to the Phoenix Area - Welcome to "The Valley Of The Sun"!
Why Phoenix?
Phoenix is at the very heart of the fastest growing area in the country.  As well as being the de-facto capital city of the Southwest, Phoenix also serves as its business and cultural hub.  Phoenix is now America's 5th largest city (pop. 1.5M) with over 4.3 million people living in the metropolitan area - not bad for a city that boasted less than 50,000 citizens in 1930!

Arizona draws people to her.  The weather is unbeatable and the bright sunshine, the unbelievably beautiful countryside, the mountain vistas and the all-year round recreational opportunities are just a few of the many reasons why millions of people visit every year.  A high quality lifestyle, affordable housing, low unemployment, a business friendly State Government and an affordable cost of living are extremely attractive to people from all over the world.  Not surprisingly, many visitors choose to relocate - at a rate of over 10,600 per month! (Metro-Phoenix stats.)  No wonder Phoenix has a robust home-building economy and that is just one of the reasons why I choose to make my home here too.

After many years in the banking world, I decided to turn my hobby of purchasing, renovation and selling homes into a full-time occupation - I just needed the right place to live and work.  Having visited many cities around the country, Phoenix stood out as the city that met my long personal list of demographic essentials.  Here are some of the demographic details that I thought important (and in no particular order):
  • A diverse and growing population
  • Low long-term unemployment
  • Lots of available land
  • Sunshine - lots of it
  • A diverse topography, ideally with mountains for skiing and water for boating
  • Relatively inexpensive cost of living
  • Good Academic Facilities
  • Nationally recognized higher education with good research facilities
  • A business-oriented State Government
  • National Sport Franchises & excellent sporting facilities
  • Excellent transportation network and communication services
  • A youthful population with a lower than average median age
  • Inexpensive Housing
  • Strong Cultural attractions and performing arts facilities
  • Great Shopping and Restaurants!
When I compared all the cities in the United States, Phoenix was the only city that not only met all these criteria, but also scored consistently as one of the top cities.  In other words, not only a great place to work, but also a great place for my family to grow up.
